Uttar Dinajpur Agriculture And Farmers Welfare SocietySustainable Agriculture Training
We provide agriculture training for rural people to preserve and promote the cultivation of both scientific and traditional seeds. The motto of this sustainable agriculture training is to train the women members of SHGs and the farmers of the villages about the importance of bio-compost; to find the possibilities of dryland farming and wasteland development; to generate complete awareness on biodiversity promotion and the benefits of using bio-pesticides; want to increase knowledge about eco-effectiveness of sustainable agriculture using both the bio-compost and bio-pesticide; to introduce SRI Technology for increasing the production with low-cost and to introduce new pulse seeds and oilseeds cultivation process in the area.
Environment Awareness
We try to keep our environment safe through various environmental awareness camps. Different mills and factories release harmful gases in the air every day that pollute our environment, become a reason for illness; the polluted air affects our respiratory system and makes us ill for the rest of life. Greenery provides enough oxygen in our environment and balances the environment; planting trees helps to repair the bad effects due to our harmful works. As a result of deforestation, the weather becomes hot and polluted enough to become poisonous for all. As social human beings, we try to save both the environment & forest by arranging programs like tree plantation, river cleaning, etc. It is a small start from the end of us to
make the world a better place to live; we gather local children and youth to work with us. We are planning to start a tree plantation every month to increase environmental awareness.
Help to Grow Forest
Trees are important to living as well as forests. Forests are the habitat of animals and we need oxygen to live which comes from trees. But nowadays people are cutting trees and forests are shedding day-by-day. This can bring danger to us. Keeping this in mind our organization organizes awareness camps to provide correct knowledge about forest and how to preserve it and why it is necessary for us. Tree plantation is organized every year in our society compound where our renowned members distribute saplings among local boys and girls.
Food Processing Unit
UDAFWS NGO is running a food processing unit in the rural areas of Uttar Dinajpur. They are producing Soybean, Jam, Jelly, Pickle, etc. There are some permanent members engaged with this unit regarding production and marketing. UDAFWS NGO has been planning to run a Jute Product Manufacturing Unit where women can manufacture different types of Ladies and Genie bags for both domestic and foreign markets.
